Cobham Tutors Policy
Our Commitment to You
At Cobham Tutors, we are dedicated to providing exceptional tutoring tailored to your or your child’s educational needs. We pledge to:
- Match you with a carefully selected tutor based on their qualifications, experience, and suitability to your requirements.
- Ensure sessions are thoughtfully planned and structured to optimize learning, utilizing the tutor’s expertise and resources.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all personal information, sharing it only with your explicit consent.
- Work with you to agree on session timing, location, frequency, and duration.
- Provide tutors who may recommend additional resources or assign supplementary tasks to accelerate progress, though they will not complete school assignments on your behalf.
- Uphold a professional Code of Ethics as set by The Tutors’ Association, ensuring the highest standards of conduct.
- Seek your feedback regularly to ensure a thriving tutoring relationship and provide half-termly progress reports detailing topics covered, achievements, and areas for improvement.
Your and Your Child’s Responsibilities
To ensure a successful tutoring experience, you and your child agree to:
- Collaborate with the tutor to identify areas needing support and guidance.
- Complete all assignments, exercises, or homework set by the tutor to support progress.
- Review half-termly progress reports and invoices, promptly addressing any issues or discrepancies with Cobham Tutors.
- Refrain from engaging tutors introduced by Cobham Tutors for private tuition for 18 months after the tutoring arrangement ends.
Payment Terms
- Fees are due within 14 days of receiving an invoice, issued at the start of each month for the previous month’s sessions.
- Payments must be made directly to Cobham Tutors (not the tutor) via cheque (payable to Cobham Tutors Ltd) or BACS, with details provided in the invoice.
- Late payments may incur a £10 daily fee, and services may be suspended for overdue accounts.
Cancellations, Lateness, and Rescheduling
- Cobham Tutors is not liable for unforeseen circumstances (e.g., tutor illness or travel disruptions), and affected sessions will be rescheduled at a mutually convenient time.
- You may cancel a session without charge by notifying the tutor at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed sessions will be charged in full.
- Tutors may cancel with 24 hours’ notice without charge.
- If a tutor is late, lost time will be made up at a mutually agreed time. If you or your child are late, compensation is at the tutor’s discretion, and the full fee applies if rescheduling is not possible.
Data Privacy
- To deliver our services, we require certain personal information about you and your child. You consent to us storing and using this data, sharing it only with prospective tutors as necessary, with appropriate safeguards.
- Upon request, we will share, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your data in accordance with your preferences and privacy standards.
Minors
- For students under 18, parents or guardians must accept these terms on their behalf and are requested to remain on-site during in-person sessions.
